Our life is a walk
with God, in whom NEW YORK, NY— After selling more than 800,000 copies in 2006, GuidepostsBooks is pleased to announce that the all-new Daily Guideposts, 2007 ($19.95, padded hardcover, 400 pages, ISBN: 0-8249-4707-x) will be on retail bookshelves this fall. Every year for thirty years Daily Guideposts has brought readers new, uplifting, and inspirational devotionals by people just like them. Opening the pages of Daily Guideposts, 2007 is more than reading a devotional book. It’s like being part of a big loving family where everyone has a story to tell. Each day starts with a short Scripture verse for reflection, followed by a true, first person anecdote, and ends with a brief prayer to put the day’s message to work. In five minutes a day readers are given a spiritual boost that enhances the richness of their lives. The Daily Guideposts writers invite readers into their lives sharing their triumphs and pitfalls with them. Readers are drawn in creating repeat buyers year after year. “It’s addictive,” says Marilyn Moore, Editor-in-Chief at GuidepostsBooks. “Every year we get letters from readers who say they can’t wait for their next volume. They want to know about the lives of these writers. They miss them when they’re gone for a year and rejoice when they return.” Each year the Daily Guideposts writers are given a theme. This year’s theme is Strength for the Journey. Sometimes the journeys that we take with God are travels that move us across the country or around the world. Sometimes they’re journeys we take without leaving our hometown. Writers like Fred Bauer, Debbie Macomber, Elizabeth Sherrill, and Evelyn Bence draw upon their personal experiences to offer reflections on the ways in which God gives us strength in our daily lives. These men and women are from all walks of life, are all ages and through personal reflections they become fast friends and close family members. Readers really get to know each one by the funny, poignant, and faith-filled stories they share and they look forward to visiting with them each year. In addition to the overall theme Daily Guideposts offers a few special series’ that elaborate on smaller themes. A few years ago a Daily Guideposts reader told writer Roberta Messner “Each day, ask God to help you discover a ‘God-find,’ a special person who has blessed you or reminded you that God is at work in your life.” At the middle of every month, Messner shares these stories in her series “God-finds.” Longtime Daily Guideposts contributor, Isabel Wolseley, takes readers on a journey to Antarctica in “The Beauty at the Bottom of the World.” Daniel Schantz shows how some of the little things we sometimes take for granted played an important part in the story of the birth of Jesus in his series “A Savior in the Straw.” Readers can track their own spiritual journeys with the “My Walk with God” diary pages; meet the authors in the popular “Fellowship Corner”; and search for specific topics in the Scripture reference index and authors, titles and subjects index. A proven bestseller, Daily Guideposts, 2007 is adorned with beautifully illustrated monthly Scripture pages, a ribbon marker, and gilded edges. In addition to this regular print version GuidepostsBooks is also releasing a paperback large print edition. Readers will find the same spiritual guidance from the same authors in this easier to read volume.
