STORIES OF CHRISTMAS MIRACLES INSPIRE, ENCOURAGE
WE HEAR THE CHRISTMAS ANGELS RELEASES OCTOBER 2006

NEW YORK, NY—During the hectic Christmas season, it’s easy to forget that the holiday started with a moment of pure serenity and quieta visit from an angel delivering tidings of God’s love. Ever since that first Christmas, angels have continued to watch over humans, and judging from the dozens of books, magazines, and television shows dedicated to angelic encounters, they are a fascinating topic. Available in October, 2006,  We Hear The Christmas Angels, (GuidepostsBooks, $14.95, hardcover, 264 pages, ISBN: 0-8249-4704-5 ) edited by Evelyn Bence, gathers a collection of 60 true stories of angelic accounts from men, women, and children who have heard, seen, or sensed a special message from God that came during the Christmas season.

I had so much fun putting together this book for GuidepostsBooks, combining two favorite themes: the watchful, protective presence of angels in our lives and the delights of the Christmas season,” says Bence.

The title of We Hear The Christmas Angels may be recognized as a line from the classic Christmas carol “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” a song that poetically and poignantly summarizes the birth of Jesus. The stories collected in this book show to readers that God’s angels are still delivering tidings of comfort, joy, and protection, particularly at Christmastime.

In We Hear The Christmas Angels, there are 60 true, contemporary accounts of angelic appearances compiled in a beautifully illustrated volume, all showing God’s hand at work during the holidays:

  • During a snowy night, a poverty-stricken couple expecting their first child hear the first verse of “Silent Night,” sung by a child caroler outside—who is never seen and leaves behind no footprints;

  • Facing illness, a greenhouse owner fearing he’ll lose his poinsettia crop is helped by a stranger who comes from nowhere, works all weekend—and disappears before being paid; and,

  • A mysterious customer gives a waitress a present that reunites her with her estranged family before vanishing.

“There are good stories here, full of wonder and encouragement,” confirms Bence. “We Hear The Christmas Angels brings together real stories of people who found an angel on their path when they most needed someone.”

“Are there angelic appearances at Christmas time more than any other time of year? Perhaps,” says Marilyn Moore, Editor-in-Chief at GuidepostsBooks. “This collection of true, contemporary experiences will inspire the reader to look for signs of God’s messengers in their own lives.”
