Guideposts To Launch Trade Book Imprint:
GuidepostsBooks
GuidepostsBooks Taps Into Six Decades
of Guideposts
Brand Loyalty & Name Recognition
NEW YORK, NY—Guideposts will launch its first trade book imprint,
GuidepostsBooks, in the fall of 2006. Founded more than 60 years ago by
Dr. Norman Vincent Peale and his wife Ruth Stafford Peale, Guideposts is one
of the most recognized inspirational organizations worldwide and its
publications reach over ten million readers each month. With the launch of
GuidepostsBooks, loyal Guideposts fans and legions of new readers
will have access to Guideposts-branded books at the retail level.
“For
more than 60 years, the Guideposts brand has steadily grown in respect and
recognition among consumers,” says Richard Stenhouse, Vice President,
Guideposts Book Publishing Group. “Guideposts has a rich history of
publishing, not only through magazines but through our retail division,
Ideals Publications, and through books distributed by our direct mail
marketing model. Now GuidepostsBooks will tap into that brand loyalty
by applying its editorial strength to trade book publishing. We believe our
new imprint will serve all readers by making GuidepostsBooks
available in their favorite retail stores.”
GuidepostsBooks is Guideposts’ adult trade imprint that will focus on
inspirational titles with a wide variety of content. All sales and
distribution will be handled by Ideals Publications’ (a division of
Guideposts) national sales representatives. “Our line of Ideals imprints
sells well in all sales channels – religious, general market, ‘big box’
retailer independents,” says Martin Flanagan, Director of Sales and
Marketing. “We believe the entire GuidepostsBooks line will be
well-received across the board.”
“GuidepostsBooks is an exciting venture,” says Marilyn Moore, Publisher and
Editor-in-Chief, GuidepostsBooks. “The brand has built-in consumer
recognition, readers who know and trust the Guideposts name. We also have
more than 60 years of publishing experience so we enjoy relationships with a
long list of authors who have forged strong ties with our organization. Some
of these authors will be on our first list.”
GuidepostsBooks' first list will be released in the fall of 2006 and
will include a range of titles, including first-person narratives,
inspirational fiction, and some entertaining life-style books. All
GuidepostsBooks titles will be acquired and edited by the Guideposts
editorial team based in New York City.
“Not only does GuidepostsBooks bring powerful name recognition to the
retail marketplace, but Guideposts’ own promotions, many millions of
consumer contacts each year, build brand recognition and provide a massive
and ongoing promotional punch,” says Flanagan. “Additionally, magazines
published by Guideposts, Guideposts, Angels on Earth and Positive Thinking,
will promote GuidepostsBooks titles via editorial coverage and
advertising that can reach over 10 million readers each month.”
“We have been carefully developing our editorial and marketing strategy for
GuidepostsBooks over the past year and a half,” says Stenhouse.
“Authors and titles will be announced soon. We look forward to showcasing
our full list at BookExpo America and CBA’s International Christian Retail
Show.”
